Our October Watchlist: What We’re Watching on EKKL This Month
From familiar faces and biblical stories to unexpected romance and a whole lot of family fun, these five picks are giving us plenty to watch on EKKL this October.
October is the month of iconic characters and unforgettable stories that let us step into another world for a little while.
And this month’s EKKL watchlist has plenty of both— from the Robertson family and some of Scripture’s most recognizable figures to a rock star searching for something more and a man trying to survive after the world as he knew it disappears.
Whether you’re in the mood for family laughs, biblical drama, romance, action or a story that leaves you thinking, there’s something to settle into this October.
Here’s what we’re watching on EKKL this October.
🦆 Duck Dynasty
Before the beards became a phenomenon, there was just a family running a business in Louisiana.
Go back to the beginning with the first two seasons of Duck Dynasty, where viewers are introduced to the Robertson family and the family business that made them famous.
There are plenty of family antics, plenty of laughs and plenty of moments that remind you that, beneath all the chaos, this is a family that genuinely enjoys being together.
Why watch it: Sometimes the best thing to watch is something that simply makes you laugh. Duck Dynasty brings the humor, but it’s the family’s faith, loyalty and unmistakable personality that made the series such a cultural phenomenon.
And if you’ve watched the Robertsons over the years, going back to Seasons 1 and 2 is a chance to see where it all started.
🎬 Elijah Peel
A washed-up rock star. A little girl fighting cancer. And an unexpected friendship that changes them both.
Elijah Peel has fame, money and everything he thought he wanted—until a heart attack lands him in the hospital and forces him to confront where his life has taken him. There, he meets Jessica, a young cancer patient and fan who isn’t afraid to ask him the questions no one else will.
As the two form an unlikely friendship, Jessica challenges Elijah to look beyond the life he’s built and consider whether there might be something more to life.
Why watch it: Beneath the story of fame and addiction is a surprisingly tender story about friendship, faith and finding hope in an unexpected place.
🔥 The Book of Daniel
How one man spent a lifetime choosing faith over fear.
Set against the rise and fall of empires, The Book of Daniel follows Daniel from a young captive taken from Jerusalem to a trusted adviser in the Babylonian and Persian courts. Over the course of his life, Daniel serves under four very different kings—Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Darius and Cyrus—while refusing to compromise his faith.
From interpreting Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams to the writing on the wall and the lions’ den, the film brings some of Daniel’s most familiar moments to the screen while telling the larger story of a man who remained faithful through decades of foreign rule.
Why watch it: With Daniel and the Fiery Furnace bringing Daniel’s origin story to theaters, this is a chance to see the full arc of Daniel’s remarkable life and faith.

🦁 Samson
His strength was legendary. His choices were complicated.
Samson follows a young Hebrew born under a Nazirite covenant with God—and gifted with supernatural strength. But Samson is reluctant to embrace the calling placed on his life, and his choices soon draw him into a dangerous cycle of love, betrayal and revenge.
From his forbidden relationship with Taren to his devastating betrayal by Delilah, Samson’s journey takes him from legendary victories to imprisonment and blindness. In the end, humbled by everything he has lost, he turns back to God for strength one final time.
Why watch it: Samson is a story about what happens when strength, calling and human weakness collide—and finding a way back when everything seems lost.
🛣️ Revelation Road — The Trilogy
Think Left Behind meets Mad Max.
The Revelation Road movies follow Josh McManus, a traveling salesman with a violent past as a special-ops soldier, after he finds himself caught in the middle of the Rapture and the collapse of society.
What begins as a desperate journey home to his wife and family becomes something much bigger. Across the film trilogy, Josh faces ruthless gangs, lawless survivors and an increasingly dangerous world while wrestling with questions of faith, redemption and his role in what comes next.
Why watch it: If you’re looking for something with more action and suspense, Revelation Road brings an end-times story to the screen with a gritty, survival-driven edge. Note: The intense action and adult themes make this one better suited for older teens and adults rather than younger viewers.
