EKKL Is Bringing Trust Back to Family Entertainment

A new home for quality stories, authentic voices, and entertainment families can feel good about.

There is a particular kind of family movie night that begins with optimism and ends with someone holding the remote like it owes them money.

The popcorn is ready. The kids are on the couch. Someone has already claimed the good blanket. And then comes the modern ritual: opening one app, backing out, opening another, scrolling past titles that look fine until they suddenly do not, checking reviews, reading parent guides, asking, “Has anybody heard of this?” By the time everyone agrees on something, half the room has lost interest.

That little weekly exhaustion is part of what EKKL is hoping to solve.

EKKL is a new faith-forward entertainment and lifestyle platform built for families who want more than another place to scroll. It brings together movies, series, podcasts, Daily Devotionals, family content, and community in one place, with a simple idea at the center: entertainment should feel easier to trust.

“I feel like I spend more time checking reviews than actually watching anything with my kids,” says one mom of three. “Sometimes I just want to press play and know it’s going to be something good, something I don’t have to worry about.”

Willie and Korie Robertson understand that feeling. For years, families have invited them into their living rooms through Duck Dynasty, books, speaking events, podcasts, and films like The Blind, the box office hit that brought the Robertson family story to the big screen. Now they are helping build EKKL around the kind of trust they say families keep asking for.

“Nowadays, sitting down with your family to watch something on television can be tricky,” Willie says. “With EKKL, we have tried to make it much easier to help family viewing be less stressful for people of faith.”

“We wanted EKKL to feel like a place families could come to and breathe a little,” Korie adds. “A place that’s fun, hopeful, and filled with voices and stories that feel familiar because they come from people who share their same values.”

That is the real assumption behind EKKL. Not just that families need more content. They have plenty of that. EKKL is built on a simple belief: families are ready for one trusted home where quality stories, authentic voices, and meaningful daily experiences finally come together.

A Bible app here. A podcast there. A streaming service for movie night. A devotional email in the inbox. None of it is bad. It just wasn’t built to work together.

EKKL is trying to make those pieces feel connected.

The platform will feature trusted voices including Willie and Korie Robertson and filmmakers behind some of the most successful faith and inspirational stories of recent years. 

There are new stories coming too from EKKL. This August, Elijah Peel arrives in theaters from executive producers Willie and Korie Robertson, telling the story of a stadium-filling rock star whose life changes after a serious health crisis. Later this fall, Daniel and the Fiery Furnace brings one of Scripture’s most beloved stories to the big screen in a new epic adaptation.

But EKKL is not only built around watching.

One of its most distinctive features is EKKL Daily Devotionals, a short guided faith experience designed for the beginning of the day, before the phone gets loud and the house starts moving. Each one runs about six to eight minutes and follows a simple pattern: Still, Word, Prayer, Declare, and Worship. Users can choose what they need most that day, whether peace, hope, love, joy, or inspiration.

That choice also helps shape what they see across the platform. A person who begins the morning looking for peace may be served a different experience than someone looking for courage, encouragement, or joy. It is a small feature with a larger ambition: to make faith feel less like a separate category and more like something woven into ordinary life.

For many listeners, these voices already feel like old friends. EKKL simply gives them a more intentional home.

And then there is Connect by EKKL, the platform’s community and editorial layer, where audiences can go behind the scenes with filmmakers and talent, follow stories beyond a trailer, and become part of the conversation around new films and experiences.

Michael Scott, EKKL co-founder and the producer behind some of the most successful faith and inspirational films of the past two decades, says faith is not just something that happens on Sunday. “It’s in the way we raise our kids, the stories we tell, the music we listen to, the conversations we have, and the moments we share as a family,” he says. “That’s what we wanted EKKL to reflect.”

That may be the cleanest way to understand it.

EKKL is not trying to be the biggest library in the room. It is trying to be the place a family can turn to without bracing themselves. A place where movie night does not require a research project. A place where the voices feel familiar, the stories have a little light in them, and faith is allowed to show up in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday.
